As someone who is growing their farm on a bootstrap, I appreciate that dahlia tubers and adding to your dahlia collection represents a sizeable investment. I know too well the utter disappointment of finally buying a variety you've been chasing, only to receive a truly terrible tuber, or once it starts flowering, a mislabel. I take care at every stage of growing, labelling, digging, harvesting and storing to make sure my tubers are exactly the high quality, luxury plant product that you have paid for.

I have been a member of the Dahlia Society of NSW & ACT for four years and encourage all budding enthusiasts to join their state dahlia society too. I dabble in showing my dahlias for exhibition at our local agricultural show and encourage all growers to give it a go.

PRESALE CONDITIONS: Presale means tubers are being prepurchased for the following season. This is a great way of securing varieties, building stock, but does come with risk. As the seller we take on all risk up to the point of shipping, here being tuber loss due to unforseen circumstances. As the purchaser, your risk is that your purchased varieties suffer unforseen loss, in which case we will contact you directly to arrange a solution, such as variety swap or refund.

 

SHIPPING: New for 2026 dahlia tuber orders over $300 receive FREE SHIPPING! Otherwise dahlia tuber flat rate shipping is $22. Our dahlia tubers will be posted via Australia Post during OCTOBER. Different dahlia varieties 'wake up' at different times and shipping dates will reflect this. 

Sorry but we cannot ship to WA, NT & Tas for biosecurity reasons.

 

INTERNATIONAL: Australian shipping only. We do not ship internationally. Orders with international billing addresses and those found to be using a mail forwarding address will be cancelled and refunded minus a $25AUD administrative fee. Our tubers are not prepared in accordance with export or import biosecurity requirements and Three Dog Flower Farm has never applied for a phytosanitary certificate. If you are looking to purchase Australian dahlia tubers, please purchase from a farm that ships internationally. We warmly welcome future international cooperatives with dahlia tissue culture.

 

FARM PICKUP: We will offer tuber collection on one weekend during October. After you have collected your tubers, we will refund any shipping you have paid. We have to do it this way as farm pickup can create quite a few admin problems. Any uncollected orders will then be sent via Australia Post the following week.

 

UPON RECEIPT: Unpack your tubers immediately. You should endeavour to plant your tubers as soon as possible.

 

VIABILITY: Only tubers with eyes showing/obvious shoots will be posted. Growing points that are harder for the untrained eye to spot will be circled in marker. All tubers posted will be confirmed viable, aka, have a shoot or actively growing eye.

 

MISLABELS: Our dahlias are labelled in the field while in flower to avoid mislabeled tubers. If you have received an incorrectly labelled tuber, please email us to arrange a solution.

 

REFUNDS POST SHIPPING: Given the nature of the product, we cannot offer refunds after shipping. We will happily arrange a solution for any tuber mislabels, but we do not hold liability once tubers have been shipped.
