Agrostemma is a beautiful cool hardy annual flower that can reach 75cm tall and brings a dreamy, airy vibe to bouquets or your garden. Also known as 'the Cosmos of spring'.
The flowers of 'Ocean Pearls' are solid white with a pearlescent sheen on the back of the petals. The inner throat of the petals is dotted with the sweetest brown speckles. Amazing for wedding work or grown as a thick stand in the landscape. This is a flower that we will grow every year, we love it so much!
COOL SEASON HARDY ANNUAL
WHEN TO SOW: Corn cockle can be sown year round. Longest stems will come from an autumn sown crop.
HOW TO GROW: Sow seeds directly into a prepared garden bed in autumn to very early spring. Cover with 2-3 mm soil as darkness is required for germination. Keep soil moist, but not wet, while waiting for seeds to germinate. Thin to approximately 10cm plant spacing in very early spring. It will reseed freely if left to go to seed.
You can also sow indoors in pots/cells and plant out into the garden any time between early autumn to early spring.
CAUTION All parts of plant including seeds harmful if eaten. Wash hands after handling.
