APIACEAE
50 SEEDS APPROX. REGULAR PACK
200+ SEEDS APPROX. FLOWER FARMER'S BULK PACK
All seeds are grown right here on the farm in the NSW Southern Highlands. Seed freshly harvested January 2026.
PLANT PROFILE: Bupleurum is absolutely one of the best spring filler and landscape plants you can grow! Frothy, acid green, tall wiry heads dance in the wind, above pale blue foliage. Excellent both as a fresh cut and dried flower. Self sows freely if left to do so. Highly recommend growing Bupleurum if you grow for your own mixed bouquets or for florists!
COOL SEASON HARDY ANNUAL
WHEN TO SOW: Autumn sow for the longest stems. Loves growing through the cool of winter. Mid spring to mid summer flowering.
HOW TO GROW: Sow seeds directly into a prepared garden bed in autumn once the weather has cooled down. Cover with 2-3mm soil as it needs darkness to germinate. Keep moist while waiting for germination which can take up to 3 weeks. Seedlings are tiny, wiry and maroon. Alternatively, you can sow indoors in a tray - surface sow but cover the tray with an empty tray for darkness and keep moist and cool while waiting for germination.
HARVEST AND CONDITIONING: Harvest when all umbel are opened. Unopened flowers will wilt. Dip freshly cut stems in boiling water for 10 seconds then pop straight into deep tepid water to condition overnight. Very long lasting cut flower.
