Sweet Pea - Turquoise Lagoon (Lathyrus odoratus x Lathyrus x hammettii x Lathyrus belinensis)

All seeds are grown right here on the farm in the NSW Southern Highlands. Seeds harvested between December 2024 and January 2025.

Sweet Pea is a beautiful cool hardy annual flower that climbs to 180cm tall. Sweet Pea 'Turquoise Lagoon' is such a unique colour and a real novelty to grow. Bred by Dr Keith Hammett, Turquoise Lagoon is another magical colour-changing sweet pea (see Blue Shift also), with buds and young flowers start out a pale mauve and age to a luminous true turquoise. It is also an incredibly prolific flowerer but a shorter growing vine. You have to grow it to experience the colour changing magic for yourself. Not the best cut flower variety but worth growing for the novelty.

Sweet Peas are one of the most nostalgic and beautiful flowers you can grow and it is a true favourite here at Three Dogs Flower Farm.

HOW TO GROW: Sow seeds directly into a well prepared garden bed in autumn, ideally on or around St Patrick's Day. Cover with 5-8mm soil. Do not overwet soil prior to germination or seeds will rot. Alternatively, you can sow into deep pots/cells and plant out into the garden as seedlings.
